OMI Tarkwa Bay: a coastal retreat just off the shores of Lagos
Located on the shores of Tarkwa Bay, just off Lagos, OMI x PopBeachClub is a coastal retreat shaped around surfing, wellness and tropical island living.
Between the vibrant energy of Lagos and the calm rhythm of the ocean, OMI offers a relaxed and immersive experience bringing together accommodation, surf, music, wellness and cultural gatherings in a unique natural setting.
From sunrise surf sessions and oceanfront breakfasts to beach movie nights, yoga and coastal explorations, every experience is designed to help guests slow down, reconnect and discover another side of Lagos. Opening November 2026.
Experiences & Activities
OMI’s experiences can either be included as part of the residency stay or booked individually à la carte.
Activities include two surf lessons per day, access to secret surf spots when conditions allow, yoga sessions, coastal explorations, post-surf reviews, massage treatments and ocean-centered experiences designed around the rhythm of Tarkwa Bay and island life.

PopBeachClub
OMI’s residency at PopBeachClub comes from a shared vision: creating a relaxed and curated coastal experience around surfing, wellness, culture and hospitality.
By collaborating with an existing space already rooted in Tarkwa Bay, the residency aims to bring together surf sessions, creative programming, music, shared meals and meaningful experiences connected to the rhythm of the ocean and the energy of Lagos coastal life.
Our rooms
Omi x PopBeachClub features 7 rooms, including double and twin bed options, as well as one shared dormitory for a more communal stay. Designed around tropical coastal living, the spaces are simple, airy and surrounded by plants and natural ocean breeze.
In line with OMI’s environmental approach and the naturally ventilated setting of Tarkwa Bay, the rooms do not include air conditioning, embracing instead the fresh coastal wind and relaxed rhythm of island life.
Food Experience
OMI offers an all day breakfast and shared evening BBQ included throughout the residency. Guests can enjoy a relaxed breakfast menu featuring açaí bowls, pancakes, breakfast burritos, eggs and fresh tropical ingredients served throughout the day. In the evening, shared BBQ dinners bring together local flavors, grilled dishes and Nigerian-inspired specialties in a warm and communal atmosphere by the ocean.

From sunrise surf sessions and hidden waves to coastal walks, yoga and evenings gathered by the beach, each day at OMI is shaped by the energy of the ocean and the vibrant atmosphere of Lagos’ coastline.
Local Impact
OMI is committed to supporting the local Tarkwa Bay community through long-term collaborations and responsible initiatives. A portion of the project’s profits will help support local schools, youth access to sports and ocean activities, as well as regular beach and coastal clean-up actions.
Faced with the growing impact of plastic pollution and waste affecting the bay and surrounding coastline, OMI also aims to actively participate in protecting the local environment through awareness, clean-up initiatives and community engagement. Through surfing, education and environmental action, the project hopes to contribute positively to the future of Tarkwa Bay.
